Thanks, Tom! I picked up Meatball Machine, but haven't had a chance to look at it, yet. Machine Girl was a hoot, though, and I'm looking forward to Tokyo Gore Police. It seems as if the Asian stuff is sort of going away from the quieter type horror and into more exploitation territory. Either way, I'm there! And by the way, I noticed in my first post that I said Crease when I should have said CHASE!! D'OH!

Asian horror films have always been pretty evenly split between the very outrageous/gory/exploitive fare and the gorgeous & lush quieter work. It's one of the reasons why I enjoy the work so much, because you get so much material at both edges and then all manners of styles, themes, atmospheres between them. Also check out APARTMENT 1303 if you get a chance. A ghost story with a lot of creepy twists and some outright deranged scenes. |
