So far, Phantom Nights by John Farris is a very good read. Strong characters and damn good writing.

Man, Blood Meridian is one of the most brutal westerns I've ever read. A lot of McCarthy's descriptions are makng me cringe.

Just finished reading Laird Barron's The Imago Sequence for the second time. Brrr.... scary fabulous.

Yeah, Laird Barron is one of those authors I keep meaning to try, but unfortunately forget about when I'm actually purchasing something. I intend to change that soon.

I'm currently reading the March/April issue of Writer's Digest, but I'll finish that today and then read the May/June issue.

I had a month or two where I was trying to work through as many Straub novels as I could, but, man, that's a lot of books, and they're pretty thick. I need to get away from him for a while.

Still working on the Peter Straub novels. I've been helping our local gaming coordinator by running games, plus running my own home game, so that's been taking up a lot of my reading time as well. Plus, I've been trying to teach myself how to read thai. A friend of mine knows I like Ancient Alien "theory" and has loaned me THE 12th Planet by Zecharia Sitchin.

I read The 12th Planet YEARS ago, my mother's ex husband loaned it to me.

Fascinating reading, but completely absurd.

I can find the other books in the store but not the first one. My friend has the entire series and will loan them to me. I think it's fun to read and watch.

He had the whole series, too, but after the first one I never read any more--and then they got divorced. But I do remember very clearly how really insane The 12th Planet seemed when I read it.
