So my dad likes to go to the casino and bet on the football games. He uses all of our players cards and bets for all of us. He called me last night and told me I won some money.

Now here is my question... after putting away 1/3 to pay for taxes how much do I give my dad?

10 to 20 % of the gross.

I figure I put away 3 for taxes. I think that is enough.. I hope so anyway.
That leaves 7. I have been trying to figure out if I give half. 1, 2, 3 or all of it. Or anywhere in between.
I just want to do what is right. Dad says he is not expecting anything but nothing just feels wrong and is not an option.

I would split what is left after taxes down the middle. I was a pro horse handicapper for several years, and I constantly had people and family members offering me money to bet for them. If I made them money the first time out, they expected to make money all the time on their original investment without ever considering the effort I had to put out to make them money. Gambling money can cause bad blood if you are not careful. I finally told people, including relatives, I was through betting for anyone else. You should take care of the person who got you the free money and consider it a gift from all the gods.
