Holy Crap! I mean, can we get a smiley guy holding his crotch, so we can discuss this book properly?! Ray's a twisted genius of the macabre. I just got this in the mail with the new Keene. And I'll say this: if you can read the opening paragraphs of the first chapter without crossing your legs and feeling a violent fainting spell coming on, then you did better than me. Can't wait to hear what the Zuma Man thinks of this one. |

I hope to start this one, this weekend. Finishing up William Ollie's "Sideshow" right now, and just finished Lazarus Condition by Paul Kane. Lazarus Condition: Did not expect this kind of a story at all. It was wonderful, almost like a breath of fresh air it was so unusual. A rising from the dead story that is full of quiet, emotional horror. This one was a stunning read (think Gifune) and I would advise anyone to pick it up, but I'm not so sure it is all that readily available anymore. Tt |

I'm half way through and loving every page of this. I think Ray really wrote an insane novel here that grabs you by the throat right away, and doesn't let go. Even at the half way point, I can't see where this one's going. If everyone on here doesn't love this one, I'll look like this: |

I've wanted this one for a while, even going so far as to keeping an eye on ebay for it. Now it's affordable. Makes me want to reread Slivers Of Bone. |

This one's definitely going to make my best reads of 2010 list. Easily. |

Just my opinion of course, but I believe Slivers of Bone is the best book to get aquainted with the man. It's all short stories, but man, they are great. For novels, I would say this one, Scissors, would be his best yet, followed by The Loveliest Dead, and then Live Girls. Tt |

Thanks for the kind words about Scissors! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Of my horror novels, this is my personal favorite and I'm glad that it's finally in a mass market paperback edition. |

After reading the review here, I don't think this will be place for me to start reading Ray. My son had to have his urethra enlarged and moved when he 2 years old. I think I'll start with Live Girls |

For some reason I just can't get into this. I am on chapter three and really don't understand why I should keep reading. Is it because I am female? |

I am about 3 chapters in and I am finding it a little hard to get into. It almost seems like Ray added a lot of unnecessary verbiage to flesh out the word count. It's intriguing enough that I want to continure reading to see where it goes but I find myself watching TV rather than reading it sometimes. |

I am almost finished and I have to say I really really like it now. Everytime I think I know what is going to happen it goes in another direction. |
