CHAOS and MSP (Banned in UK) at The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles!
Controversial true crime horror feature film CHAOS will be showing in 35mm on the big screen again in Los Angeles this August 6th & 7th at The New Beverly Cinema!
A great deal of debate has emerged since the original US national theatrical release of the gritty, realistic and truly terrifying feature film CHAOS in the fall of 2005.
Many members of the national press and viewers alike have contended that CHAOS has stirred them up in a way that few films of similarly strong nature have done in the last thirty-five years since the original release of the seminal THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE of the early 1970’s.
Today, a spate of larger budget studio feature horror films with related themes have been released - such as the HOSTEL and SAW series - to either glowing reviews or an enormously growing fan base worldwide.
Unknown to a majority of horror and true crime audiences, is that many of those higher-profile feature films arrived on the heels of the production and release of CHAOS, as well as other contemporary independent films like Nick Palumbo’s MURDER-SET-PIECES and Takashi Mike’s AUDITION, which pre-date the aforementioned popular series.
CHAOS and MURDER-SET-PIECES are amongst the very last visceral, realistic and truly devastating horror movies shot on 35mm in a lineage that has rarely been reawakened until now.
We hope that fans and members of the press will be on hand to re-examine both of these unusual and striking films
The CHAOS team invites you to attend both screenings on August 6th and August 7th, including the panel discussions which will follow. Select cast and crew members will be available for press interviews either on the screening nights or other arranged dates.
CHAOS will be shown on the big screen from an original 35mm exhibition print at the famous Los Angles revival movie house, The New Beverly Cinema, the building of which is newly owned by none other than director extraordinaire Quentin Tarantino.
CHAOS is the harrowing story of two young women who enter an irreversible and hellish descent into the hands of wayward psychotic gang leader Eddie "Chaos" Cooper and his degenerate cohorts "Frankie," "Swan" and "Daisy." It is a story based on true events. It is a story that happens every day. It is a story that you have to see to believe. It is the story of CHAOS.
Kevin Gage (Michael Mann's HEAT, Ridley Scott's G.I. JANE), Sage Stallone (DAYLIGHT, ROCKY V), Stephen Wozniak (BEYOND THE DAVINCI CODE, HOPE RANCH), KC Kelly, Chantal Degroat and Maya Barovich star in the brutal, realistic and horrifying true-crime feature film, CHAOS. Directed and written by David DeFalco. Co-produced and co-written by Marc Sheffler (LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT).
REVIEW QUOTES:
“Don’t make the mistake of thinking CHAOS is only a horror film. Having seen it, I cannot ignore it, nor can I deny that it affected me strongly…and when CHAOS was over, I was filled with sadness and disquiet. The movie works.”
- ROGER EBERT
“CHAOS is well-shot and convincingly acted.”
- TV GUIDE
“This movie horrified me. CHAOS is blunt and brutal. CHAOS has done something no modern horror film has accomplished since 1973’s THE EXORCIST: Reacquaints us with our humanity. CHAOS comes at us with such unrestrained intensity that the movie doesn’t just cross the line, it leaves the line back at the horizon.”
- CHICAGO HERALD
“CHAOS is a well-crafted horror film. CHAOS is about brutality without the theatrics. CHAOS is the worst nightmare you’ve ever had. Perhaps the biggest surprise about CHAOS is the acting…pretty good performances.”
- AIN’T IT COOL NEWS
Alongside this modern classic of brutal true crime horror will be MURDER-SET-PIECES, a film of equal notorious repute, directed by Nick Palumbo.
Special guests stars who will be on hand for both screenings include multiple WWE Heavyweight and Tag Team winners BATISTA and ROB VAN DAM (RVD). Both of these international performers will star in David DeFalco upcoming action-thriller feature film series set for production later in 2008.
This double bill will play on August 6th and 7th at 7:30PM and 9:30PM. Panel discussions with each film’s director, cast and crew will be held both nights between each show. The MSP panel will held be on August 6th, while the CHAOS panel will be on August 7th.
