I discovered just a few minutes ago that my novella, "Kiss of the Mudman" (from Home Before Dark: The Collected Cedar Hill Stories, Volume 2) was last night awarded the International Horror Guild Award for Long Fiction (go to: http://www.ihgonline.org/index.html for a list of all nominees and recipients). I was stunned and honored to learn this -- not only because it's been 9 years since I was last nominated for an IHG Award, but because, considering the caliber of the other works in the Long Fiction category, I didn't think my story had a chance.

Congratulations Gary, I've not had the pleasure of reading your stories yet, except for "Station Identification" which it thought was class. But I've got "Graveyard People" & "Home before dark" & "Destinations Unknown" on my shelves so hopefully some day I'll get to sit back and enjoy.
