| Post subject: | Saw the Rough Cut for ONE OF THOSE FACES |
Earl newton sent me a link to the rough cut for One of Those Faces and it's just wonderful -- I couldn't possibly be happier with the way the story has been presented; Earl's film leaves the story's spine fully in tact, its themes are beautifully expressed, its emotional tone is pitch-perfect, and the acting -- especially by the actors playing JoAnna and Listen -- is superb. The composer is working on the music as I write this, and some special effects and sound problems have to be smoothed over, but it's well on track for a mid-August premiere. (The "mask" effects are fabulous.) This past weekend, Earl did an interview about the process of adapting the story for film, and it's fascinating listening, available for download at: http://www.strangerthings.tv/ All in all, I could not possibly be happier with the adaptation, and think all of you are going to like it, as well. As soon as I have the definite premiere date, I'll post it here. |
