| Post subject: | ONE OF THOSE FACES Premiering Tonight! |
This has been a long time coming, but the premiere of One of Those Faces, the short film based on my story "Rami Temporalis," will happen around 9 p.m. this evening. The director, Earl Newton, wasn't happy with the opening scene -- technically, the second scene, the one that appears after the opening credits -- and after bouncing several ideas back and forth with me, decided to re-shoot it. I have now seen the final cut of the film, and it's wonderful. Yes, there are several differences between the film and the story, but as I've said before, the spine of the story emerges fully in tact, and you can't ask for more than that. The new scene is amazing, methinks -- subtle and eerie -- and perfectly establishes the tone of the story.
