~Hello Gary- I am probably like everyone else when I say this but, I adored Mr. Hands. That was the first book I have ever read of yours and it wasn't the last I have also read In Silent Graves and I also loved that book of yours. Anyway...When I read and finished Mr. Hands, it gave me inspiration for the book that I am currently writing (it doesn't have a name yet) but, since school is pounding on me with homework. I have found myself trapped in writers block. (it sucks) do you have any hints on how I can get passed it?? --Traci |

If anyone can answer this I would be truely grateful! At this website: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/b/gary-a-braunbeck/ it shows Gary's novels and gives the description of some of the books but, in the one description of The indifference of Heaven It gives the description of In silent graves So, my question is Did they make a mistake on the book description or is it the same?

Traci: IN SILENT GRAVES and THE INDIFFERENCE OF HEAVEN are the same book, only under different titles -- Leisure wanted a shorter title for the paperback edition. I'm so glad you've been enjoying my books so far; thank you! About getting out of writer's block, here's what works for me: I look at the last scene that's been written, and I imagine that the "writer's block" is whatever obstacle the character is facing -- like, if it's a ghost story, then imagine that you're writer's block is the ghost your character is dealing with -- and then see what *your character* does. You don't even need to keep it in the story; it's just a fun way to jump-start a piece of work. Gary |
