I watched the Arrow DVD of Island of Death last night. It's the first time I've seen it in ages, but it definitely still holds up as a jaw-dropping odyssey in sleaze. Crucifixion, rape, bestiality, a bulldozer decapitation ... it leaves few stones unturned. Certainly worth a look for those among you who seek out such debauched fare. There aren't many tag lines that can rival "The lucky ones got their brains blown out!" Ryan H. |

Hey Chuck, I didn't know it was getting so rare here. If you have a region-free player, I'd recommend getting it from Amazon.uk. Final price is under $16 with shipping and most everything I've ordered from there, I've received in 6-7 days. I think a lot of people would be shocked at how reasonable it is to order from the UK versus buying it from our Amazon at an import price (in this case, $31.99). Ryan |

I appreciated the film's mean-spirited tone but found the goat-fucking to be severely lacking in the credibility department. |

Wow, goat fucking! I thought I'd seen this flick but how could I forget goat sex? One of my pulp Spanish favorites (or is it Italian) is called Black Candles, starring Hilga Line looking dynamite at about the age of 50. There was a goat scene in that too, and though we don't see any actual coital joining of woman and beast, a girl does tongue kiss a goat. Classy! Edward Lee |

I saw Black Candles a few years ago ... it was on some Grindhouse 2-on-1 DVD. It was pretty perverse, from what I remember. At first I was thinking of A Candle for the Devil. That's another one I like, also from Spain (also with good MILF action). Sinners punished, sleaze indulged. |

Was Candle for the Devil also called Nightmare Inn? I'd always heard it ward great but all but impossible find as a good remaster and uncut. As for Island of Death, now that I'm back from L.A., it's on my to-get list. Edward Lee PS--just saw Night of the Tentacles (which I bought at Dark Delicacies in Burbank where my signing was) and, though very low budget, it's a lot of fun! |

I didn't know about that alternate title, but just looked it up, and sure it enough it's the same movie. I quite enjoyed it. I think you'd appreciate Island of Death, too. There's certainly gorier offerings out there, but it maintains a very sleazy and debased atmosphere. Ryan |

i enjoyed this movie much. strange however it was banned, a bit tame now. but that's the uk, ban everything that's violent. see the cut's they make in Hellraiser, child's play. redicoulous. |
