I just finished a short story, and the word count is 800 words over magazine limits, as in, its like 4832. That means I need to find 832 words to lose, and most of them being adjectives, adverbs, stupid metaphors, and what not to cut. After that, how am trim fat without cutting muscle? |

A lot of magazines have a cut off at 5,000 words. The problem is I often hover towards 7,000. Argh! I'm cutting down some stories now, too. I'm also looking at markets that prefer 4,000 words. Fortunately, I'm not that far over. David Word killa! |
