- Audiobooks. Anyone into them?
I have never published anything but I am not interested in going the whole self publishing route. To me, it wouldn't really mean anything except that I wanted to see it in print (or audio or whatever), not that anyone else would have any interest in it. I would rather go about it in a way that actually means that others enjoy it as well as myself.

I agree matt.
The big thing is not just the work in print or performed. I won't lie, that's a nice little rush. The biggest thing is the acceptance, that an editor thinks you've written something of worth and not only wants to share it with you, but somehow pay you for your efforts, even if payment is only a copy or two of the publication in question (which is a norm for the poetry end of things.) The harsh realities of the publishing world makes it all the more sweeter when it happens. The first time I ever published anything, I was literally dancing around my parents living room, waving the letter of my head. I don't do that anymore. But I do grin like madman, sometimes.

Thanks, Ken! I listened to The Harvest tonight and will probably listen to Mrs. Sniffles tomarrow. I enjoyed The Harvest, so I'm sure that I'll also like Mrs. Sniffles as well. [/i]
I might start listening to audio books. I used to think I didn't like being read to, but recently I've been listening to a Stephen King short story in the vehicle and it was pretty fun.
Another good one is Twilight Tales. They don't put out new episodes anymore, but the ones they have available are pretty good.
My personal favorites (in no particular order) are:
"The Worry Doctor" by Linda DeMeulemeester "The Little Girl Down the Way" by Lawrence Santoro "Flying" by Martin Mundt "The League of the Red Palm: Of Zombies and Saints" by Weston Ochse
Maybe I'll get some classical litera-chah on CD. Maybe listening to it will be more interesting than reading it. Maybe I'll learn how to pronounce some big words as well.
No problem, Matt. I'll leave them up until tomorrow if anyone else wants to grab them.
And thank you for the heads-up on Twilight Tales. I hadn't heard of that one. But there are some fairly well-known names, so I downloaded them all and got them on my iPod for listening this week on that long-ass commute.
Audio books are great. I subscribe to Audible. Right now I'm about 2/3 through Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon. But can also get many unabridged audios as downloads from the public library.
I really like for the most part. “Honest Ghosts” by Stephen Dedmen is near the top.
