It’s the 25th episode of Pod of Horror (isn’t that the silver bullet anniversary?) And for your listening pleasure we present: * A holiday greeting from Chinese Dracula * Grim Rictus puts on the bling and becomes a rappin’ pimp daddy * Scott Bradley reviews Richard Laymon’s THE CELLAR * A December Horror World Update * The horror news flows freely in Dave’s Poop * In the Tomb of Trivia, we’re giving away books by Jack Ketchum, Ray Garton, Edward Lee, Jeff Strand, Simon Clark, Jeremy R. Johnson and Alan M. Clark * Listener e-mail and highbrow banter (err, okay, middle-to-lowbrow banter) Pod of Horror is hosted by Mark Justice and David T. Wilbanks. Download it at I-Tunes or direct to your desktop at: http://www.horrorworld.org/poh.htm |

Hey, good show guys, even though I did miss listening to an author interview. Glad you guys liked the emailed story about that Bachman book I sent, and Mr. Justice, at risk of sounding like a rural West Virginian, "You read REAL good, like." Anyhow, sometimes I feel a little bad about Mr. Scott Bradley. Every show, he dutifully reviews a book, and then he gives out his email address, but he never reads any correspondence, or refers to a "reader's question." So, I would like to hereby issue a SmackDown challenge to Mr. Scott Bradley: Why on earth should I read anything by Dean Koontz? I read "Dark Rivers of the Heart" years ago and found it so laughable, I couldn n't muster the will to take Koontz seriously after that. It was the only book of his I tried reading. I know I'm missing something, so, Mr. Bradley, I throw down this gauntlet: teach me. rich damnedcritic.blogspot.com |

I confess--I like your pods. I can't the ones earlier than 21 to d'load and no clue how to get them onto my ipod. however, I foud shane's story plainly awful--no sense of style or any attempt to raizse the level from penthouse letter land. But this kind of thing can be mitigated by a reading which convinces dramatically and with some performance skills. Unfortunately, I found shane's reading to be flat and barely above the don't try this at home warning label. I'm sure this will gain me no new fans, but I gotta call'em as they come over the plate, and "little hummer boy" was a stinkbomb. |

Tom: Many of the older shows are here: http://www.horrorworld.org/horrorreader.htm I'm not sure how to get them on your I-Pod -- that's above my pay level -- but you can certainly listen to them at your computer. You might be able to right-click them and save to I-Tunes. Thanks for listening. |

Now if Padrone could just get over being so shy about expressing his feelings... ![]() |
