| Post subject: | Is there any novels like the TV show LOST? |
LOST is my favorite show on TV. I love how indepth the mystery is and how they are tying characters to philosphers from the past (Locke, Hume, Ruseo, etc.). There seems to be a great mix of both scientific and spiritual plots going along. To me, the plot just seems so rich with mystery. Are there any (horror type) novels that would be similar to the feel of LOST?

That's a tough one, Matt. Have you tried the Straw Men novels of Michael Marshall (Smith)? They bear no resemblance to LOST, but they concern the unraveling of a conspiracy. Plus, the writing is excellent. They are The Straw Men The Upright Man Blood of Angels |

Good call, Mark! I'm a huge Michael Marshall Smith fan - THE STRAW MEN trilogy is awesome...I'd also recommend his science fiction novels (SPARES, ONE OF US, ONLY FORWARD), and his short fiction (collected in WHAT YOU MAKE IT). Whether he's writing SF, thrillers, or horror, this guy is freaking TOP NOTCH I don't watch LOST, so I can't comment on any similarities, but I strongly urge everyone to check out MMS. He would probably be a cool guy to get on the show sometime, eh? SB |

Not to answer my own question, but now that I think of it, Twelve Steps to Midnight by Richard Matheson, could fall into this category. Great book filled with strange, mysterious things going on all around the main character. Good explanation at the end for the reasons behind it all too.
