I picked up the new Mighty Avengers book and liked it a lot. I really liked the addition of Ares, believe it or not to the team. Looks to be a good book.

The 300 viewing has been canceled for this weekend because of my brother's schedule, so we'll try it next weekend. I'm working on a short story today, for a anthology of tales set in nearby West Virgina. I hope to have it finished today or tomorrow. I also have to put together a bio and behind-the-scenes piece for another anthology. We're grilling our burgers tonight. Whoo-hoo! Then, tomorrow, I'm on a diet. I didn't like what I saw when I weighed in at the doctor's office last week, so it's time to do something about it. I'm reading Trial of Time by Jeff Mariotte, a DC Universe novel featuring Superman, The Phantom Stranger, Etrigan the Demon. Jonah Hex, Bat Lash and El Diablo. It's very enjoyable so far. Mariotte --who has written a lot of comics and media tie-in novels -- has a stand alone horror novel out next month. |

They can't have killed off Captain America for good. Give it a couple of years. Who knows, somebody like Frank Miller or Garth Innis might sign a contract to do what Grant Morrison did with XMen.... I don't know. I just remember when DC tried killing off Superman in the 1990's. Or Batman breaking his back? The cynic in me says comic book companies kill of big names to just attract attention. But then again, I've been out of the comic book loop for a couple of years. |

I guarantee that someone will be Captain America again soon, and more than likely the original will be back at some point. I don't know of any hero that has been killed that has either stayed dead, not actually been killed like everyone thought, or had someone take up their name and run with it again, but still I hope they bring back the original soon. Some rumors say that he will be back as the new Ronin in the New Avengers comic book. Here fairly recently, the following heroes have been 'killed', only to return again: 1- Iron Fist 2- Colossus 3- Hawkeye The thing is, I really liked all those characters, and was glad that the writers cheated and did so. Their have been a ton more but those spring to mind.[/i] |
