To be honest, I didn't know who he was until the other day. It's big news here in Indiana though. I guess he was from here. It's been the biggest item on the front page of the Indianapolis Star both yesterday and today. |

Matt, if you want to read the most sarcastic but lovable writer of the last century, you would have to read Kurt Vonnegut's novels. I especially loved -- beyond Slaughter House 5 -- Slapstick, where there's a religious cult of christians who have violent neck seizures, because they're always looking over their shoulder, to see if Jesus has arrived in the minute that they weren't looking. Also, New York City renamed as "Skyscraper National Park." Sure, he wasn't horror, and was only sci-fi in the goofiest of ways, but I have no doubt that Vonnegut is one for the ages. I think it would be better to remember vonnegut with a ![]() ![]() |
