Hey Mark, I enjoyed your story a great deal! Cool idea of an alternate reality where the Nazis conquered the world with the help of Demons and necromancers. It was fun to read! ![]() Hey Dave, I really like the formate of the book as far as the way its printed on the page. The sentences aren't all jammed in there together with a lot of the anthologies I have. It makes reading it much easier. It was actually one of the first things I noticed when I opened the book. I liked the cover art as well. It had a very surrealistic feel to it which catches your interest. Looks like a well put together book! ![]() |

Hey Dave, I've read a couple more. I read Punishment and Message Board. Both were good but I was really impressed with Message Board. Good story from a first time author. I'm curious what it is like to assemble an anthology like you did with this book. How many stories did you have to read, and how difficult was it to pick which ones to put in? How did you go about seeking submissions on the subject specific to this books theme? |

Hey Dave, I read a few more stories and really loved Dark Return by William F. Nolan! What a great story! It really felt like one of the great episodes of the original Twilight Zone TV series. I haven't actually read anything by Nolan except for his book on how to write horror, but that story was very strong! ![]() |

Mr. Wilbanks, I'm really getting hooked on your book here. With most anthologies I buy I usually only read about five of the stories in them (Ramsey Campbell anthologies and Haunted House focused ones are exceptions) but I'm starting number ten from Damned Nation. So far I've read: This is Mars Das Hollenfeuer The Punishment Tortures of That Inward Wounded Man and Horned Melon Kheller's Treats Dark Return Terra Incognita and Message Board I've just started Cul-De-Sac My favorites so far are: Das Hollenfeuer, Kheller's Treats and Dark Return. They have all been good though. Those three however, are extarordinary. I have to be honest and say I wasn't sure I would like stories in the Hell on Earth vane, but I have enjoyed this anthology a great deal! The only one I started and didn't like was In Heat, but that's just because it isn't a style of story that I like in general. People who enjoy Edward Lee would probably like it I suppose. Other than that one they've been great. ![]() |
