Hey Guys, Just Saying "Hi" and checking in...

Hi all -

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still alive and still part of the POH team. After a shitload of computer problems that I thought were fixed, my lovely flat-and-widescreen monitor decided to stop working for me, resulting in having to take it to the shop (for an estimated $300 repair, and having to wait for a part that still hasn't arrived). Whoo-ha.

And THEN I couldn't get certain programs to work on my wonky laptop, which resulted in me not getting to record my segment for the latest POH, as well as kept me from following up on some other promises and obligations.

And, to top everything else off, I got some kind of upsetting personal/family news - nothing I want to go into here, and something that only affects me to the extent that it affects someone I love, which is, of course, quite a bit.

But finally, on the upside, I have had some VERY good news come thru this week that will hopefully be ready to announce for public consumption in a few weeks. Mark & Dave already know (keep it under your hat guys!), but it's something that, when everything is nailed down, is gonna be pretty freaking amazing and that you'll all be VERY interested in hearing (it might even merit an announcement on a near-future POH!

).

Huzzah for the good news, Scott, can't wait to hear the official announcement.

Sorry to hear about your continued computer woes, though. Is it safe to assume you have a Windows machine? I know you probably don't have a cool grand laying around, but I just have to make the suggestion that you bite the bullet and get an iMac. $999 will get you the base model and you can say goodbye to all the bullshit. Plus, no more worries about viruses and spyware. People complain that a Mac costs more, but it really doesn't if you factor in how much your time is worth, multiplied by how many hours you'll spend NOT fixing shit. Plus, at $300 a whack for repairs, the Mac will be cheaper in the long run. Not to sound preachy, but your pain has been going on for a long time, so I figured I'd make a plug.

I'm typing this on a cheap Everex StepNote laptop, and all I have to say is AMEN. I hope no Mac Vs. PC flame war breaks out, but I can tell you, from a house hold that has three lap tops and one desk top (2 mac, 2 pc) I use both and you're absolutely right on the money about MACs. My wife's laptop kept getting blue screen after blue screen with her PC notebook, and she saw how my eMac desktop never had any troubles since we bought it.
