Oh yes, the 70's were a wonderful decade of kiss over exposure. I remember my brother, besides his stuffed chewbacca teddybear had a Kiss lunchpail among other things...

There was a photo feature in the magazine (which I have around here somewhere) showing Kiss at the printing plant dumping vials of their own blood into the ink tank.

YESSSSS! My favorite band since I was 5!

To be fair, the over-exposure of Kiss didn't really start happening until after the 1976 Gallup Poll put them at the top of the heap. By 1978 Disco moved in, Kiss climbed on board that sparkly train, lunch boxes and pinball machines all sported the name, and Peter and Ace wanted out because they thought they could do better on their own (dumb asses).

The blood in the ink was real, btw. They had it drawn by nurses and poured in the red ink at the printers.

Anyone remember the movie Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park?

I've seen snippets, and the acting is worse then anything troma studios could put out. Not even campy bad...just bad. I remember when I was a kid, somebody -- a freind of the family I think, breaking Dynasty over their leg (it was a vinyl LP) while spewing cusswords.
