I don't know if any of you watch the TV show Supernatural on the CW network or not (it's a great show about two brothers who track down and destroy all sorts of demons, ghosts, and legendary creatures of all sorts. They even had a Windigo on one epsiode), but I just heard on a podcast the other day that Margeret Wiese Games is working on making a role playing game based on the show. I usually don't get too interested in role playing games that are based off of a movie or TV series but I just may have to get this one. The creatures alone would make for some interesting reading as they really seem to do their research on the show. They had an Acheri on the most recent episode. I have only vaguely heard of them before (some sort of ghost that appears as a young child), so they come up with some obscure stuff. :D

CW?

It used to be the WB network and UPN. They merged together to form the CW. It's been around for less than a year so far but they have shows like Smallville and Supernatural on it. Those are the only two that I watch there, so I'm not sure what else they have. It is a basic channel though. You don't need to have cable to get it or anything like that.

That would explain why I haven't seen it. Still, sounds like the book will at least be interesting.

To be honest, Supernatural is a show that I think a lot of horror fans would really like. They have some really creepy looking entities and good stories most of the time. They seem to treat the subject with respect (although there is a lot of humor from the main characters, it isn't at the expense of the monsters or horror aspects). I don't think many people have heard of it but I really enjoy it. By the way, they are offering on their website a chance to sign up and win a trip to several reputedly haunted places (a sort of tour I guess). I signed up, I don't expect to win but it is a prize worthy of the attempt.

For those interested, here is the site:

Oh thanks Matt :)

It sounds like a neat show. I met someone who watched Lost the other day and from these convos here I actually had an idea of what he was talking about hehe.

I've signed up to play The Supernatural RPG at Gen Con this year. It's one called In The Woods, I'm looking forward to it. :D

Raven,
I obviously didn't pay enough attention to your question. You asked when is Gen Con and I was thinking where is Gen Con. Gen Con is August 16-19. If your interested here is the link:

Hellstorm,
Yes, I'm a fan of the show too. They really seem to do their research on the creatures they put on the show. I'd enjoy hearing any sort of podcast about it or the game. :D

Hey Matt,

I checked out Gen Con. That looks really interesting. A definite must go to once we get Farath out there. muahahaha

I noticed Wizards of the Coast is one of the co-sponsors. Now, I don't normally get competitive and, normally, keep my mouth shut on matters of other businesses business. But those guys need a serious kick in the **** and they just... (rest of sentence deleted to keep with realm of tact and good taste). *hyperventilates*

Anyway *cues soothing music*, we'll be so very pleased to one day show them how to creatively game...indeed we will...

Hello,
I'm back from a fun vaction canoeing, hikeing and hanging out with friends around the campfire. Yeah, I used to love AD&D but the group I'm in plays GURPS now. We are much more story oriented and less into the combat (it tends to get boring moving from one fight to another).

Gen Con has alot more than just Wizards of the Coast stuff though, it's an emense role playing game convention with something like 10,000 people coming from all over the world. There are small game publishers and big ones all together under one big roof. You could spend nearly a whole day walking through the exhibit hall testing out new games and buying all sorts of stuff. It's huge. When you get Farath up and going let me know, I'd like to check it out. :D
