Sorry to hear that the con didn't work out. When you and your team release Farath, you'll have to come here to Indy and Gen Con (it's primarily a RPG convention). |

That is rather unfortunate, as ConClave seems like the best fit of the Michigan cons for a local horror writer. sometimes has some nice writing stuff, but it's a weird mix of SF and Linux. sounds promising, but is still pretty small. tends to be pretty strong on the SF. Your best bet is probably to drive down to . If you want more of a horror author presence at a convention in Michigan you might talk to the rest of the horror writers in Michigan and decide on one con to go to and participate in. If you get a group, you can effectively change the con. Another option is to get together with a bunch of writers and create your own GenreCon type event. There should be some large library or college organization that would help. There are also gaming, comic, and media cons around that might be interested. http://www.geocities.com/miconcmu/ http://www.mediawestcon.org/ http://www.motorcitycomiccon.com/ http://con-versation.com/ http://www.record-eagle.com/features/lo ... 93051.html |

Hey! Good to see you here ![]() You know, I really wish you still lived here in Michigan. Though I'm betting you're glad to be down in Florida. We got snow this morning...eeewww Thank you so much for the links and the suggestions. We will have to do that - gather a bunch of us up and start attending the Cons together. Contexts in Ohio is great! We went there last year and there were so many interesting folks around. Do you ever go to that one? |

I haven't been able to go, but if I still lived in northern Michigan I would make a point to go. I know many of the people who attend through the Horror Writers Association, World Horror Cons, and Seton Hill University's Master's in Writing of Popular Fiction program. |
