Still on Hill 488, re: Viet Nam conflict. Just needed a change of pace from horror and crime stuff. Not sure what's next, but there's enough in my TBR pile to stock a small library.

Thanks, CAO. There will be an ultra-cool (and expensive) limited edition containing all three "Night" books first, with a foreward by Kealan Patrick Burke and an Afterward by Gary Braunbeck, and then a few months later a hardcover of just "Night of the Daemon." I hope to be able to announce a bit more within a few weeks. The second Mick Callahan novel "Eye of the Burning Man" is scheduled for November.

I'm currently in the midst of 'A Classic Slum' by Robert Roberts - a book of social history. He writes his memoirs - backed up by statistics - of being brought up in the City of Salford (now part of the Greater Manchester Metropolitan Area) during the first quarter of the twentieth century. That makes him a contemporary of my own parents.

What I find fascinating is that when I was growing up during the 1950s, although social conditions had advanced, the mores and cultural values of the working classes had hardly changed.

Let's see. Since finishing school I've read In The Midnight Museum (see my review at www.horrorworld.org/reviews.htm), Afterlife, Horn of Plenty, Fear Me, and I'm currently reading Dean Koontz's Frankenstein. Next up Hellz Bellz!
