Any LOST fans here?

I know I'm in the minority, but, as usual, I don't care.

I still think Lost is the best show on TV (or maybe tied for first with The Sporanos).

The 'net is filled with complainers with psychic powers, able to peer into the brains of the show's producers and confirm that there is no master plan for the series.

I don't have that mind-reading ability, so I say bring it on. As long as I continue to be entertained for an hour once a week, I'm quite happy.

I LOVE LOST! It has actually replaced the X-Files as my all time favorite show. I listen to about 8 to 9 podcasts a week about the show (I read meters, so I get to listen while I work).
It's funny you should bring it up, as I was just talking it up to Raven Bower, over on her forum. I like how they include so many literary references on the show. It's like a TV show that is actually trying to encourage its veiwers to read some good, classic books. I'm not sure their has ever been a show so rich in intricate plotting and mystery.

For those unaware, these folowing books have appeared on the show and are supposed to have had some influence on the over all feel or plot of it.
Watership Down, A Wrinkle in Time, The Third Policeman,Turn of the Screw, An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge, Carrie, OF Mice and Men, The Gunslinger (Dark Tower series), The Fountain Head.

Earlier this week, USA TODAY ran a big article on all the names of philosophers that haver been used for character names on the show.

Season 3 of Lost just started 3 weeks ago here in Latin America, and I gotta say, I'm pretty tempted to drop it. To think that week after week I'll have to see these characters (Jack, Kate & Sawyer) getting psychologically and physically tortured, knowing that by the end of the episode everything will remain as is, is just... "stressful". I don't feel it's going anywhere, it's like it's caught in a loop.

I loved the series when it started but it began to lose its grip on me by the middle of season 2.

Sorry Lost is not working for you, Cesar. I find the writing and directing as captivating as the first episode.

The first 6 episodes of season three, while I still enjoyed them, were a little hit and miss, but I think they are really starting to hit their stride again. The last three episodes have been really great and they are answering several mysterys that have been out there for awhile. The episode where it is revealed how Locke became paralyzed is probably my all time favorite episode of LOST. Really good stuff. Stick with it this season because I think it gets better as it goes on.

The Hurley/van episode was my favorite of Season 3 so far. It combined the humor, humanity and mystery that has marked the best episodes of this series.

I tend to like the more mythology centric episodes the best. My problem with the Hurley one was that it didn't focus on the mysteries of the island much. It seems like they have been revealing a lot more of the mystery stuff in the last several ones (maybe not last weeks Paulo and Nikki one, but I liked the island murder mystery investigation on that one). :)

See, this is where I seem to split with most fans of Lost. If the hour is well-written, acted and directed, I'm happy. And while it didn't explain the smoke monster or whatever, the Hurley episode emphasized the need for hope, which would seem to be a requisite of life on the island.

Plus, we learned the Island has vehicles and beer!

So Mark, who is your favorite character on LOST. Mine is Locke, but I like Ben too. He is a great bad guy.

The last several episodes have been really good! The last one, 'One of Us' had a big reveal at the end and one of the more tsriaght forward answers that I've ever seen on the show.

The last ep was outstanding. I read an interesting theory online about why Juliet had to be knocked out before she got on the sub.. it's very spoiler-y, so I won't share it here. But interesting....

Hey Mark,
Do you listen to any of the LOST podcasts? There are several very good ones out there. My favorites are The LOSTCasts, Jay and Jack's LOST podcast, and the Generally Speaking LOST Podcast. They always have lots of theories and great discussions about what is going on.
